Summary: Our room was beautiful, comfortable and spacious. We loved the pool and ocean access, and lounging on the beach. The staff at Casa Altamar were the best we met on our 2 week trip to Mexico. They were so kind, accommodating and thoughtful. Tulum is a unique destination, with different "zones," each with their own vibe. Casa Altamar is north of the town center and "party" beach area. That means you get a quiet and secluded beach (huge plus!) It is a 15min drive to town if you want to explore other parts of Tulum and there are only a few restaurant options nearby, though the hotel's own restaurant is tasty and reasonably priced for the area. It isn't a sandy entry-point beach but the water is beautiful to swim in, they provide snorkels, paddleboards and kayaks.
